Our Mission
To help under-served youth overcome life's circumstances - giving them hope and a future.
Life SkillsLearning how to budget and shop is just one of the skills our students learn during summer camp. |
Math and measurementMath matters! Learning how math is used in daily life is an essential skill. Our students learn and use conversions for recipe batching every day! |
Culinary SkillsOur students learn basic culinary skills so that they are equipped to prepare meals for themselves and their families. |
AJ's Kids in the Full Circle Project learn many skills that carry over into every day life. Not only do they learn about cooking, math, and shopping, but they also learn critical life skills such as negotiating, how to become financially stable, how to acquire housing, and how to prepare for the future financially. Our activities throughout the year are focused on introducing them to world beyond their imagination and stretching their minds to see opportunities they don't currently know exist.
Our GoalTo equip young people with the skills and knowledge to seize every opportunity. |
The Full Circle Program
The CampOur camp is one week during the summer for rising 5th graders from Norfolk Public Schools. During the week, the students cook their meals, eat together, participate in activities designed to teach, but to also build relationships. Children are taught basic life and culinary skills that will follow them into adulthood.
|
The DinnerAt the conclusion of each camp, students host their families, our sponsors, and Norfolk Public Schools personnel for an evening at around the table at Sweetwater Cuisine. The children prepare dinner, select linens and place settings for their families and get to share what they have learned during the week. It is an evening to remember!

The experiencesWe partner with local businesses to provide memorable and valuable experiences to our group. We want to instill a desire to work hard, want more, and reach for the stars. We hope to reinforce goal setting and working toward dreams. "Kids see no future when they are only living in the present." - AJ
